Welcome to NEAFCU

The Board of Directors, Officers and Staff welcome you to Northeast Arkansas Federal Credit Union. You might be wondering what a credit union is. A credit union is simply a financial cooperative, owned by members and operated by a volunteer board of directors. Money that members deposit in the credit union is then loaned out and invested to ensure the income needed to provide the most complete and efficient services available. Credit unions, as the old motto goes, simply exist as a way for "people to help people." Credit unions are also not-for-profit, which means income is used to implement or expand services and maintain attractive interest rates.

Included in this website is a menu of our current services designed to satisfy all of your financial needs. We hope you will use many of them. Please feel free to ask questions of any of our staff members. They can assist you in selecting the right services to meet your needs.

Our staff supports the credit union's commitment to offer you quality services, which are convenient and affordable.

How We Began

NEAFCU was founded in 1959 by and for military personnel at the former Eaker Air Force Base in Blytheville. Many of these individuals had trouble getting loans from other financial institutions because of the tendency of military personnel to have to relocate frequently.

The credit union began with around 100 members and now has around 12,000. The growth the credit union experienced now means that members are served not only at the Gosnell location, but also at the main Blytheville location, the Jonesboro facility and the most recent addition of the Forrest City branch.

NEAFCU's field of membership has changed as well. The credit union now serves about 200 Select Employee Groups and holds a community charter serving all of St. Francis County. Click here to learn more about how to join.

While NEAFCU now serves thousands rather than hundreds, members continue to serve as the backbone of this cooperative, and the staff believes firmly in the credit union motto: Everything We Do, We Do For You.

NEAFCU has an obligation to the members and to the communities it serves and its staff members take pride in delivering the best quality service and helping to meet the needs of people in Northeast Arkansas. Each year, NEAFCU conducts several fundraising endeavors including raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Credit Union for Kids is also a great program with the cooperative has been involved. Our staff members are active in their churches and many social organizations in our respective communities. We hope to see you around!
